Who is this Colin fellow and why does he get a website?

Colin is an unfocused yet randomly talented individual who has been tinkering at the intersections of art, culture and politics for a few decades now. Colin’s work history shows an equal lack of focus with the resume showing Web Developer, Magazine Editor and Treatment Worker, with a host of other jobs in between. Born in Ontario, he has also lived in Manitoba and Alberta but now resides on Vancouver Island in British Columbia. All of this has informed and refined Colin’s particular style.

One of the ongoing discussions in art is whether meaning is created by the artist or by the audience and Colin’s work tries to come down firmly in between those two views. Each art piece is the artist trying to say something, expressing an idea, but done using imagery that isn’t obvious and makes the first encounter with the art typically one of the audience applying meaning. The hope would be that with repeated viewing, the audience meaning and the artist meaning can begin to converge.
